Lovely home! I was expecting just a room in a house like the description but the space has its own entryway, bathroom, and dining area so it feels like a separate studio apartment. It was beautiful and clean. Would recommend to those wanting to stay close to Volcano National Park!

The accommodations are simple. The bed was very comfortable with AC in that room. The unit was clean and simple but reasonable for the location - very close to kayaking and snorkeling. There were plenty of towels, hot water, easy cooking facilities, private quiet and safe. If you want upscale fancy - go to a hotel. If you want some space to spread out for a reasonable price by the beach this unit wins my vote! Loved our stay and we will return.

This place is exactly what a family with kids needs! Room to play outside and video games inside for older kids, fun toys for toddlers, and old school Nintendo for the 80's kids! Kimo and Lauren were communicative and accommodating, and the thoughtful touches were appreciated. 10/10 would recommend!

Jason has become our favorite host on Kona!! His units have keep us comfortable while working away from home. They are convenient, clean and affordable. When we reach out to him, he always responds so quickly! Working away from home for long periods of time can be challenging. Beautiful condo and amazing location. Our family of 6 had plenty of room and loved everything about the property. We were allowed to check in early and any questions were had were answered very quickly. We can’t wait to come back!

You can tell Kurt and Kana put a lot of care into hosting their guests. From the moment reservations were made to the time we left they shared their insights, recommendations and care. Our flight was diverted to Honolulu instead of Kona and they were very attentive to our needs. They made sure breakfast was ready for us even though we arrived in the afternoon and they had the lanai hammock “reserved” for us to decompress. If we were to arrive in the middle of the night, Kurt was willing to drive up to town meet us as the house is a challenge to find, through a brief magical jungle experience. The sunset from their Lanai after the waylaying storm we went through was an incredible hour plus long panoramic experience. The breakfasts were a great opportunity to meet and visit with our hosts and other guests to share experiences and suggestions. And Kana’s attentiveness to flavor and detail in the homegrown food and coffee from homegrown plants were a special treat. Mahalo, D&G

Cathia's place is beautiful. Nestled in the rain forest, with birds chirping, fruit trees and green all around. The unit is the top section. Cathia lives below. You feel like you are in a tree house. The refrigerator is stocked. We found coffee, fresh eggs, bacon, bread, pb and jelly. The Washer & Dryer is outside on the patio. Cathia had a large party before us and had to use the machines for a bit, but we didn't really notice. I'd go back!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home very much. Plenty of room for our family of 5, and the kitchen was fairly well appointed for cooking in. There were also many extras that we appreciated as well, such as flashlights (the property is remote, so very dark outside at night), laundry detergent, books and games. etc. One thing to note is that there was a slight musty smell; I suspect due to the wall-to-wall carpeting in the bedrooms and the tropical climate. This did not bother half of us, but the other half of us who are more sensitive to smells were a little bothered. I think a change of flooring would be a good idea (not an easy fix, I know).

I travel to this area most years for conferences and holiday. Always choose this accommodation if available because of its location, amenities and most helpful guests. It is my number one place to stay for ease of access also. Very quiet and lovely neighbourhood and very safe walking any time day or night. It is up a hill which gives a great view and I like it for the exercise walking to restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and other shops. Could ask for better hosts! A favourite of many B&Bs I have stayed at around the world.

We loved the space and the lanai overlooking a vegi garden and chickens. Great location, easy to get to and close to everything to do in Volcano. Kristin is a wonderful host, excellent communication and responsive.

It was pretty basic, but what we expected. A lovely view from the swimming pool...and a great location to explore Captain Cook!

Caryl was very communicative from Day 1 and was the perfect hostess. She was extremely friendly and offered great recommendations on things to do in Kona. The Airbnb itself was really clean, beautiful, and the perfect spot as a base of operations on the outer fringes of Kona.

Large enough for group stays of 4 people. Great restaurant right next door. Nice kitchen and bathroom. Very comfy!!

Maxx was very accommodating to us as there was hiccup in renting out the Escape to Mauna Loa Village and gave us another space to spend the rest of our trip. It was very clean, easily accessible, and a perfect location for exploring Kona. I would definitely love to book with Maxx again in the future!

Cody's place is a very lovely, quiet spot just outside of Hilo. It feels calm and private, but is a short drive from everything you want in town - really perfect! Coffee and a light breakfast is included, and we found it helpful to get fresh fruit from the farmer's market downtown to add to the yogurt. Would absolutely stay again!

Oh my goodness! Staying with Cc was such a treat! I don’t usually stay in shared Airbnb’s but I did stay with CC based on her amazing reviews and the promise of included breakfast. She is the ultimate host in every way and we felt so welcome and well fed! Her and Ken gave us great suggestions for the island. And I will honestly be back just to visit CC! We miss you already! I really enjoyed my 5 nights. My family had been with me for a couple weeks at a much higher nightly cost, so in my extra 10 days I wanted to ratchet down to a more reasonable nightly cost. And this natural paradise was a success for me. I loved getting know Honokaa area better - and the roads around this retreat are just remarkable with their huge eucalyptus trees! Kitchen was pristine, and they have a nice French press for my critical morning coffee. And enjoyed eating the farm’s bananas for breakfast. And space in the fridge & freezer for my extra foods left over. I was tempted to stay extra nights, but figured it better to keep exploring the awesome island. They had an extra blanket because it does get chilly in the middle of the night. Memorable and enjoyable airbnb!

I have been profoundly moved by Akiko, her land and home, and her community in beautiful Wailea. Akiko herself is precious beyond measure, a true treasure that I’m grateful to have met in this lifetime. Come ready to receive remarkable warmth, joy, connection, loving presence, solitude, peace, and deep inspiration. Not only from Akiko, but from all of the wonderful locals and guests who come through. The Banana Cottage itself is lovely, surrounded by trees, a stunning refuge from which to work and sleep, and take peaceful walks down Old Mamalahoa Highway, through the rainforest and to the sea. And the land is so alive, has been so lovingly tended to — coqui frogs, birds, geckos, kitties, chickens all around, the orchard, the sun, the rain, and, and, and. I leave with a heart brimming full of wonder, hope, and light. If I would be so lucky to return to the Big Island one day, without question, Akiko’s place is where I will go, not just as a place to stay, but as my reason to return.

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite on the top floor and it was lovely! The wraparound lanai provided us with views of the distant ocean and the red, glowing steam from the erupting volcano. The room is huge and very comfortable!

This accommodation was one of our favorites during our stay on the Big Island. The property is beautiful and we loved the constant sound of the waterfall next to our room for 2 nights. Sadly the waterfall was too rough to enter the day we planned to go SUPing, so we never got to have that experience, but we would happily return!
