We had a lovely couple of day's stay in John's beautiful cottage. John phoned to make sure we had received the key code and to see if we had any questions. The cottage is in a superb position in the village with stunning views of the castle, the Farne islands and the harbour from the kitchen, the garden and from both bedrooms. The cottage is very well-equipped for being self-catering if you do not want to eat out at the lovely pub next door! You can park the car right outside and charge it ( if it is electric). Therefore, once you have arrived you can go on lovely walks around the island and, if you time it right with the tides, you can be there when the island is cut off, all the day-trippers have gone, and it is so peaceful. We had a fabulous stay over New Year's Eve in the cottage. Perfect location for star gazing and walks on crisp cold days. We loved the fires, indoor and outdoor.

Words cannot describe how amazing Simone is and her gorgeous retreat. I took my Dad away for a little trip away as he is rather poorly and the original place I had booked was appalling! So bad I refused to stay. Thinking I'd have to take my Dad back home as finding somewhere suitable for his needs is slim picking, never mind on an August Friday night at 6pm, last weekend of the summer holidays. Nevertheless, after refusing to give up I found this gem, both in Simone and her retreat. Just what we needed . Simone went above and beyond from the second I placed the booking, she rang me straight away, said she would met us there, she had the retreat warming through for us, lights on and made us feel absolutely at home. So much so I had to give her a hug. The whole experience from start to finish was 10 star. The place is beautiful, the views are outstanding, area is perfect. My Dad is dying to go back already. And I can't wait to take him. See you soon x

Great Lodge, have stayed here a few times. very comfortable and peaceful. Lodge is equipped with everything you could need and hot tub is fab. Diane is a great host. Will definitely be back next year!!

Just back from a couple of nights at The Great Escape and feel as thoughtful gh we've been away for a week. Very relaxing space , friendly little pub on site. Amusements was just enough to keep the kids entertained without being over the top and taking away from the feel of the place . Cracking dark skies for star viewing in the hottub. Would definitely return.

Lovely weekend! Absolutely loved the decking and hot tub area and watching the sunrise in the morning! Had a lovely long walk to explore the surrounding areas and we were very impressed! Hopefully be back again soon!

This is the second time staying at Debra's place. We couldn't wait to come back after the first time so didn't even look at any other places when booking. It's so cosy and feels like a home from home. Everything is always so spotlessly clean and there is always everything we need. Debra is a fab host and always responds when we have a question. The apartment is a perfect location to walk to town and to the local beaches. There is honestly nothing negative to say about this place. If you're planning to come to Seaham and go seaglass hunting then do not hesitate to book here. We can't wait to come back!

My group and I had a lovely time at Mary's place! The caravan is very cozy and is just a short walk to a bus stop that takes you to Edinburgh proper. We loved having easy access to the city while also getting to Escape to a quieter area with such beautiful scenery. Mary is aso incredibly kind and responsive. When my group came up against unforseen circumstances, she was very caring, communicative, and helpful. A wonderful host and sweet place to stay!
